Meet Kindra McDougall PT, DPT

Kindra has always been fascinated with how capable the human body really is. She grew up as a competitive gymnast and fell in love with physical therapy after going through her own rehab for a complicated elbow dislocation. She went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon.

As a physical therapist, she uses her knowledge in movement analysis to create a whole body treatment approach catered to each person’s needs. Kindra loves the puzzle of finding the root cause and teaches her patients to overcome it with a combination of individualized exercises and hands-on techniques. She understands the body is more than an injured area and integrates her knowledge of the nervous system, sleep, nutrition, and mindset. She educates and inspires her patients to be their best not only in their sport or art, but in life.

Kindra is well versed in the treatment of circus artists, gymnasts, cheerleaders, and dancers, fitness athletes, and people with hypermobility including Ehlers Danlos. She also has a certification in emergency medical response for the athlete so you can often find her on the medical staff for tumbling and trampoline competitions and behind the tent or backstage at performances.

As a mover, Kindra enjoys pushing her body to its maximum potential. She is a performing artist who specializes in acrobatics and aerial. On the ground, you’ll probably find her basing and flying for partner acro or stacked on chairs doing hand balancing and contortion. In the air, you are most likely to see her on the silks or sphere, but she is also proficient in sling, lyra, cube, rope, and harness. She is co-creator of the performance teams Duo Mystík, Kynetic Flow, and is a member of Vuelta La Luna Circus.

Kindra’s goal is to work in collaboration with her patients to educate them on the tools to maintain a healthy and pain free life so they never have to give up on their dreams.
